Description

This course gives juniors aged between 12 and 17 years, the opportunity to study English in an English speaking environment, and enjoy a range of activities and excursions. The course provides 15 hours of practice in the 4 skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) for a week, with enough opportunity for active vocabulary development. If a government school is visited, 12 hours are used for English tuition and 3 for the visit. In addition to learning new material, the focus is to practice the English that students have already learned.

weather dependent and may be subject to change
at the discretion of the staff.

*School visits are dependent on the local government timetable and will not be available during school breaks.

  • Levels: Beginner to Advanced Level / A1 to C2
  • Homework: Assigned daily.
  • Tests: Placement test to ensure allocation to the right class
  • Progress: Regular monitoring to ensure students' performance.
  • Course materials: Up-to-date course materials are used for all our courses, especially Oxford and Cambridge ELT material.
  • Class size: Limited to only 15 students to ensure that each student receives enough individual attention.
  • Certificates: Awarded at the end of the course. Students can study towards the Trinity oral examination and take the exam at Meridian.

Course dates

These one-week courses are run in Autumn, Winter and Spring (October – June). There are options for afternoon and / or evening activities and the opportunity for a half day visit at a government school. The purpose of the optional school visit (1) is integration into the British classroom environment, so that students can get a taste of the British Government School Education System, while also providing the student with the opportunity to practise their English skills with English speaking students.
