Junior Summer Homestay in Portsmouth

Description

We offer groups of junior students aged between 12 and 17 years an extensive range of facilities in a wonderful setting to enjoy their learning and activities in a safe and professionally managed fun environment.

Destination

The City of Portsmouth is a historic maritime city with a beautiful coastline and a bustling city centre. Each Saturday the students will enjoy an all day cultural excursion to various locations around the UK, and also an additional afternoon or evening trip away from the school during the week.

• Dates: July and August - duration: 2 and 4 weeks for 15 hours per week at all levels (A2 - C1)
• Tests: A Placement test is required to ensure correct class allocation and regular monitoring
• Class Sizes: Maximum 12 students per class and a Meridian Certificate is awarded at the end of the course
• Staff:Our teachers are experienced and qualified. The staff are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for the students and an experience to remember for life

Examples of Excursions and Activities:

• All day cultural excursions often include locations such as London, Stonehenge, Salisbury, the Isle of Wight, Brighton, Bath, Oxford and Winchester
• Local attractions include the Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose, Action Stations activity centre, Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays, the Bowlplex, ice-skating, Salsa dancing, beach BBQs, weekend bandstand live music, many local museums and much more

Accommodation

• Homestay Full Board accommodation with host family. Single or shared rooms available. All meals included, as well as packed lunches for day trips. Host families will arrange transport to and from local destinations. Students should bring their own towels. Bedding is supplied and changed regularly
• Accompanying Teachers can be accommodated in single rooms as required

Transfers

We can arrange transfers by bus or train from main airports & stations for groups. Please ask for a quote

Please note

• These summer courses are subject to availability and we advise bookings to be confirmed prior to the end of January 2011
• For Homestay students, the host families will drop off and collect the students daily
